Tasting Notes:
The aroma of the barrel pick was delightfully complex. The taste was smooth but warm, it was pleasantly woody with accents of spice and smoke.
Nose: classic Heaven Hill juice, sweet oak, dark fruits
Palate: oily, cherries, sweet, tobacco, reminds me of a campfire and toasted marshmallows, very complex for proof (attributed to minimal water added to get to 94 proof)
Finish: Medium. Leaves a sweet smoky smoothness but with a deep flavor profile, strong oak flavor and a little heat coming through. This will definitely elevate an old fashioned or Manhattan.
